DIY Wood & Hex Nut Bracelet & a JORD Watch Giveaway

BY Jen

I was recently contacted by JORD Wood Watches about doing a collaboration and I jumped at the opportunity! I have been admiring these beautiful watches for awhile and I am now the proud owner of a beautiful Zebrawood & Turquoise one. I wanted to feature a fun project that was inspired by these unique watches and I came up with this DIY wood and hex nut bracelet. (Keep reading for a JORD Watch giveaway!)

I was inspired by JORD’s unique blend of natural and industrial, with a touch of glam. You wouldn’t normally think of the hardware store as a place to shop for jewelry making supplies, but I love the color and geometric shape of hex nuts and thought they would be a perfect compliment to the wood beads on this bracelet.

What you will need:

– Wood beads (I used these)
– Hex nuts that are a similar size to your beads
Stretch jewelry cord
– Super Glue

Directions:

  1. Measure and cut a piece of the jewelry cord that is the size of your wrist, plus a couple extra inches.
  2. String beads and hex nuts onto the cord in whatever pattern you like. I chose 3 wood beads, followed by one hex nut. Repeat until you reach the desired length (test on your wrist to make sure it fits).
  3. Once you have reached your desired length, tie a knot in the cord as close to the beads as possible and add a drop of super glue to secure. Allow glue to dry.
  4. Once glue is dry, cut off the extra cord ends.

DIY Leave-In Conditioner

BY Jen

DIY Leave-In Conditioner | A Sip of Bliss
Happy Leap Day! Is anyone doing anything exciting with their bonus day? I was out of town visiting family in sunny San Diego all last week, so I am playing catch up today. I am pretty busy with work, but the blog hasn’t had any love in awhile so I am stopping in to share a really quick and easy DIY for leave-in conditioner.

I used to have a HUGE collection of beauty products taking over my bathroom, but ever since I started simplifying my beauty routine and using more natural products I have been so much happier! My bathroom stays organized and I save so much money! I have super thick hair so a leave-in conditioner is a must for me. This version uses your regular old conditioner, almond oil and water. The mixture gets lightly sprayed onto your hair to detangle it and make it shiny and manageable (without making it greasy). And these are ingredients I always have on hand so it is super easy to whip up a batch whenever I run out. I hope you enjoy it!

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in your fine mist spray bottle.
  2. Shake before using, as it will separate between uses.
  3. Lightly mist onto damp hair and comb through.
