DIY Mocha Body Scrub

DIY Mocha Body Scrub

I have been loving the weather lately, but my skin…not so much. It has been very dry, which makes it itchy and doesn’t look great either. My weapons to help fight the dry flaky skin? Moisturizing and exfoliating. You can tackle both with this super easy, super awesome DIY mocha body scrub. It has just four simple ingredients and takes only a few minutes to make. And bonus–it smells amazing! Good enough to eat (which I wouldn’t know from experience of course…ok I might have tried some)

DIY Mocha Body Scrub | A Sip of Bliss

Unless you have been living under a rock or are new to the internet, you probably have heard people talking about the benefits of coconut oil. It moisturizes and nourishes your dry, thirsty skin. The sugar exfoliates to get rid of dead skin cells and allows the oil to penetrate and do its job. You could stop after those two ingredients and have a great scrub, but I added coffee and cocoa to give it even more skin beautifying qualities.

The caffeine in the coffee helps firm the skin and reduce swelling. I’m sure you have heard of cocoa butter being used in beauty products, but cocoa powder also has its benefits. It is rich in antioxidants and has anti aging properties.

Pantone Color of the Year Roundup

BY Jen

Every December, Pantone releases their “Color or the Year” for the upcoming year. Being a designer, I am always interested to see what they choose. For this year, they actually picked two colors: Rose Quartz (a soft rose pink) and Serenity (a cool blue with a hint of purple).

I always find it fun seeing where the colors pop up. We will probably end up seeing them in many aspects of design (print, fashion, home) this coming year. Here is a roundup of some Rose Quartz and Serenity items I found. If I didn’t already have a working KitchenAid mixer, I think I would need this pink one.

Pantone Color of the Year Roundup

1. Pink Woven Pillow from Target  |  2. Spring Eden Candle from Anthropologie  |  3. Pink KitchenAid Mixer from Amazon | 4. Happiness Planner from Anthropologie | 5. Watch from Urban Outfitters | 6. Essie Pret-a-Surfer from Amazon | 7. Tarren Towel from Anthropologie

From the Pantone site: “Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”

I’m loving the calm, airy vibe of the colors. What are your thoughts on the color choices?
